Owning

Owning a Northern Inuit takes a lot of patience, hard work and commitment not to mention a good sense of humour, an understanding of large breed dogs or at least a willingness to learn.
They are such complex characters. Loving, Cheeky, Affectionate, Stubborn and Intelligent to name but a few of their traits.Socialization of pups from birth is essential, as is obedience training.

These dogs are an addictive breed few people rarely stop at one and they turn heads where ever they go. They make great family members as they will bond with the entire family and love to be included in everything that the family does.
However they are not for the novice owner, give them an inch and they will take a yard.

They can be very stubborn and are very quick witted.Mutual respect must be establlshed between owner and dog  .
A firm but fair hand is most definitely needed although they don't respond well to harsh treatment.

They need a moderate amount of exercise, but this needs to be restricted for the first year as they are a slow maturing fast growing dog

If you are prepared to put in the time and effort into owning and raising one of these beautiful creatures then let's delve a little deeper
